Last year september we were approached by west rand solars, via a friend.
Everything looked promising, legit... I asked the salesman how long the company has been running and if they will be in businesses for a long time... obviously the answer was good.
After the money was paid, things started to fall apart.
They could not supply the 300l geyser we wanted, they only realized that the morning of the scheduled installation. The day eventually came where they had to install the system they arrived at 2 in the afternoon after telling us they will be here by 8am.
After installation I did my own inspection, roof tiles cracked, 1mm extension cord used to power the element and no isolation box. We contacted west Rand Solars several times about this and they basically ignored me. They said I dont have to worry, I have a 5 year warranty on the product. That was 6 months ago... and west rand solars is now closed for businesses. Later I found out west rand solars werent even approved by apollo solar technologyto iinstall the systems. Also never got my rebate from eskom.
I have broken rooftiles, fire hazard on the wiring and no west rand solars.
Its costing us R3500 to reinstall the syste
