We bought an 8 piece dining room suite from Essop's Furnishers on the 29/09/12.2 months later the leg of the one chair was loose and there was a crack running from the top to bottom of the leg. When my husband phoned Farhad, the salesperson, he told him to take it in in mid-Jan as the factories were closed. My husband took it in and after a mth we had to keep phoning and eventually got the chair back. The only thing they did was glue it together, and what an untidy job. I phoned the head office to attempt to speak to the directors as it was unacceptable after paying R10 000 for it! Because it was on the floor, we were now told there's no guarantee. Achmat said he would try to sort it out. The next day after not hearing from him, I called again and spoke to Yaseen. A few minutes later, Achmat phoned me and screamed at me saying that he said he'd sort it out (well I'm still waiting)! After trying for nearly 2 weeks my husband got hold of Faizal, the director who apologised for the poor service and assured him that he'd investigate and get back to him. That was Thursday morning and still no return call from the director!! Really pathetic for a company selling expensive furniture.
