My first introduction to Joe Jacob Interior Design was in the House & Leisure magazine. I liked Joe Jacob's style, and was in the market for an interior designer. I've been a regular reader of House and Leisure magazine and trusted that if they featured a designer in their magazine, he had bona-fide abilities.

I met up with Joe Jacob in February 2013; the initial impression was good. He came up with a design and promised full project management. I was concerned by the demand for payment upfront; however he did deliver on the design.

We moved onto the next phase - April 2013. Again I paid upfront. This is when things fell apart. I waited for action and delivery. None has been forthcoming since. Initially it was the stereotypical "ducking and diving". Eventually he admitted to having spent my money on things other than what I had paid him for.

He closed-down his business and his office at Lanseria Centre; does not take calls nor replies to email. He owes me R64, 500. It's almost a year since the saga started, with this man showing no inclination to either complete the design or to pay back the debt - even in small, regular amounts - an offer I made but to date ignored by JJID.
