Like "baddy" we have the EXACT complaint about Etienne Lewis! The same year we bought 8 "leather" dining chairs from them. The invoice states LEATHER. After 7 years the chairs have cracked, hardly used!
The customer service lady admitted to an admin mistake at that time, where chairs had been sold as leather, but in fact were not! She gave us the option for a refund, swap for the same bad chairs or have our chairs re-upholstered in full leather. The cost of which we would have to pay! We agreed to this option. After 6 weeks without chairs (quoted 5-7 days) we were told that there had been a miscommunication and that in fact the cost quoted to us, in writing, was incorrect and we now would have to pay 7 times more than the initial quote! In the meantime we sit with loan chairs - the exact chairs we bought 7 years ago. "Bicast leather" on invoice with a price tag R50 cheaper today than we bought 7 years ago!
Speaking to the store manager we got shocking service with total disrespect and absolutely no interest in keeping up the the store's reputation and saving customer loyalty.
"We don't sell cheap furniture, we sell expensive furniture.. just so much cheaper". Think again!!
