Almost everytime I go to Builders Warehouse looking for something unusual or hard to describe, what happens is I go to the relevant area of the shop and ask the staff there for the thing that I am looking for. Usually what happens is that they tell me that they don't have it without even looking, and also say something along the lines of that "We don't stock that item! I then go over to Wayne in the electrics department and describe the item to him, and he will hunt around the shop for me looking for the exact item or an equivalent. After a few minutes he returns with the item! If there really isn't that item, on at least four different occasions he has directed me to a specific shop that knows does keep stock of that item. I have actually taken to driving to the Norwood branch just to ask him for advice on various hardware related things, and of course, usually end up buying something while I am there!
If you would allow me to meddle for a little bit I would seriously recommend that he gets a promotion as every other department staff seems to be too lazy to help so they just cop out by saying that they don't stock it. Think how much that type of behaviour has cost you over time!
