In December our electricity suddenly went off. We attempted to call City Power but after waiting on two separate phones for over an hour for an answer, we called AAA Electricical (advertised in a full page ad in the Yellow Pages). In big letters they advertise: NO CALL OUT FEES, FREE QUOTES, LOW CHARGES.
Two men arrived an hour after the time they said they would come. They worked at the inside and outside electricity box and got it working again within not more than 20 minutes. They then told my husband that the cost would R4200!!! We refused to pay that amount, asked them why they had not quoted us before doing anything and they asked was how much we had to pay. We said that that was unprofessional and they should have quoted us on the job. Because we would not pay, they said they would undo what they had done.
We called another electrician who took 3 1/2 hours to fix the mess they had made, the wries they had cut, both inside and outside and at the municipal box. He also told us that there had been no reason whatsoever for AAA to have worked inside.
