Hi Peter,

I have an issue with a online IT company. I have placed an online order and paid for it on 15/02. On my order I have placed a note stating that it is urgent. On the website they state that if an order is placed before 14H00 it will be dispatched the same day and the order email stated that I will receive an email stating the tracking number shortly.

I waited until 20/02 and then asked for an update on my order. A person by the name of Ryan replied that the order was at the local post office and that they are striking. I then replied by asking for a tracking number BUT then the order turned into an issue whereby now they wanted to give me a refund or I must pay a additional R145 for courier shipping. (They said that I am living in an outlying area)
I refused to pay more because the website did not calculate this as it should. I also refused the refund and said I only want the tracking number because I do not hold them responsible for what happens at the post office.
This soon turned ugly because they tried to hide the fact that the item was never shipped. I then received an email that my order was cancelled.
These people clearly do not care for the consumer act.
