I purchased a brand new HP Laptop in May 2013, model no HP Envy dv6 from the HP Shop in the Sandton Mall. When I asked the salesman for an extra battery he said that it was readily available from their Logistic company SPL at about R950 for a 6 cell battery.
I called SPL a few days later and was quoted the exact same price and was told that it would cost me an additional R95 delivery charges but I could collect when I was in the area at no extra cost.
When I got to SPL I was told that they don't carry stock of this item and that I would have to order the product which would cost me R1250.
I then decided to pop in at the HP shop in Sandton to see if they could help me.
The salesman phoned SPL and after a lengthy conversation decided to quote me a whopping R1825 for the battery.
I then called SPL and spoke to a lady by the name of Wendy, who quoted me R1050 for the battery. which I accepted and asked her to send me a quote and Banking details.
She called me later, obviously after talking to the salesman at the HP store and stated that she under quoted me and that the price was now R1825. - This is obviously a sign of Collusion by HP and its logistic company - DISGUSTING!!!
