Laptop fails within afew months - poor service

My laptop was 5 months old when it started to act up. An IT guy has been helping to sort the laptop out on several occasions. A month ago my drive started to fail on a regular basis but when the IT guy contacted the service centre, their on-line diagnostic showed that it was software and no warranty could be claimed. Now the drive is making a noise and failing a few times a day. The on-line diagnostic confirmed its failure and the new drive should arrive on Monday but I have to get my IT guy to do the swap out, at my expense. What kind of a warranty is this if all they do is supply the parts and I have to get someone else to fit it. Should the drive fail again, Dell will point the finger back to me as it was my IT guy that did the installation. Clearly Dell does not know what its doing selling laptops as they are inferior and fail within a few months. Will have to start looking for a new laptop and Dell will be the last make our company will look at.
