Help or no Help?

On 11/12 March I rented a car from Eurocar in Nelspruit. On 12 March when I handed it back, I negligently forgot my GPS in the car. I was surprised when I phoned them and they have kept it in the office. I have sent a friend to collect it. When we received it the bracket was broken and it could not be attached to the car window. The charger cable was also not included. I phoned again and the reply was that Steven forgot to include the cable in the package. He apologized and promised to return it to their OR Tambo branch where I could collect it. I would have received a confirmation call before 22 March to confirm the contact at OR Tambo.
I never received any communication until 22 April. I phoned again on 22 April and the response was: We could not find any way to sent the equipment to OR Tambo - one month later? and that for a company who is in the transport business. I phoned Eurocar and the best response: We cannot take responsibility for equipment left in cars. Why then first break the equipment and then after promises refuse to help. Should that not have been the first response. Please just tell me where the charger is? It seems that Mr Steven has now lost it and avoids me.
