I received a rechargeable battery operated lantern as a gift which was purchased from Woolworths a few years ago. The battery would no longer accept the charge and with possible blackouts in the winter months I thought that it would be a good idea to try and get a replacement battery. Unfortunately, the battery came with an uncommon connector and I had problem sourcing one so wrote to Woolworths for assistance but they said that they did not stock the replacement battery. I then went online and found Deltec Power Distributors. They said that the batteries they stocked were slightly different but that I should take my battery through to their Cape Town office and see whether they could make a plan,

He looked at the battery, saw that they had a similarly sized battery with different terminals and said that he could take the top off my old battery and solder the connectors of the new one onto the old and thus solved my problem and at a very reasonable market related price. In the process he has saved me about R350 as I do not need a new lantern. Greatly appreciated.
