Barloworld Motor Retail
Oxygen Senso

On the 31st August 2012, I received a quote for the replacement of my Gear lever and oxygen sensor. I then spoke to Larry and we both agreed that it was not urgent to replace the gear lever, but the sensor was necessary. The quote for the sensor amounted to P1400.00, so I then instructed him to order the part. We followed up on delivery every month and was eventually told that the part would arrive at the end of December 2012. In the first week of January 2013, I called to follow up once more and was told the part had not arrived. I was told that they would call me when the part arrives. I called again in February and still nothing. I called in March and was told I could bring my car in on the 5th April. At 16.30pm when I went to collect my car, I was shocked to receive a bill of over P5000.00 for the sensor. I immediately wanted an explanation and they responded by saying that they do not keep their quotations so it is difficult to say. This would not have happened had the part been ordered and received in September last year. Surely it should not take Barloworld over 8 months to receive stock. I am extremely upset and feel like taking this matter through to Consumer Affairs.
