All paid up but no vehicle delivered

I have never, ever in my life battled as much when buying a vehicle like I have with this deal. I paid cash for my vehicle on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Then I get a phone call from the warranties/insurance section of the dealer to give me a quote and said that the vehicle will be ready for delivery on Thursday, March 7, 2013. We have arranged alternative insurance starting on March 8, 2013. The vehicle had to be serviced and a few small things fixed. Guess what, no vehicle was delivered on March 8, 2013. They found out that an employee of GM filled the vehicle with petrol instead of diesel, causing damage to the injectors and fuel pump, which had to be replaced. They promised delivery of the vehicle yesterday (March 19, 2013). Today I found out that it will take about another week before we have our vehicle as the job is still not complete. This is really not on as the dealer received the money for the deal and now I have nothing to hold them on. Lesson: NEVER pay upfront if work has to be done to the vehicle. I really think that this deal should be cancelled, (no contracts were signed) my money reversed so that I can start looking for something else. This is NOT acceptable.
