I bought a brand new 2011 Cerato from Lazarus Motors. The car was just below 2000 km. I sent it is due to the 3rd gear shuddering. For 1.5 years I was told it is because of the gear cable being loose and they have tightened it. After about 4 visits to Lazarus Motors, the problem with the car was still not discovered. Took my car to Kia SA, After 2 attempts I was told that it was the drive shaft and they ordered the part. After 6 weeks the part arrives, booked my car in for the drive shaft I was told that it gear box needed to be replaced
I was not going to have my car for 4 weeks because they would have to take out my gear box and send it away for it to be reconditioned; I bought a NEW car NOT a RECONDITIONED car. Kia don't supply courtesy cars. My car has a 5 years/100 000 km warranty & service plan I was told to contact my own insurance for a car or get it on my own account even though the warranty & maintenance booklet indicates that Kia Assist will arrange for a Car Hire.
I have contacted my insurance company and they have indicated to me that unless my car in at the panel beater they can not provide me with a car and the dealership must provide me with a car.
