I went to BP In Jeane Avenue Centurion last nigh 27/02/2013 to put in petrol on my Car.
The Guy who helped me was Phillip. He swiped by card for payment, and I got the SMS notification that the transaction went through successful. He said on his machine it shows Declined. There was no slip or anything to show the Decline. He said I need to swipe my Card again, and the other transaction will reverse in 5 to 15 minutes. I swiped again and I never got the reversal SMS. I then phoned my bank FNB this morning, and they confirmed to me that the transaction went through twice.
FNB said, BP needs to call The FNB authorizations department at 011 369 2888, and the can reverse one transaction.
But when I call BP, they say I need to come with the bank statement so that they can refund me the money. I feel that this is unfair; as I have to go out of my and get the statement, then drive all the way to BP to get the refund, when BP can just reverse the transaction. It's not my fault the transaction went through twice.
