Motorland
Unscrupulous Practice

I went to collect my new mahindra scorpio from Motorland yesterday. Upon collection i am informed the vehicle has 900km's on it but has not driven 900km. I asked why and it was indicated to me by Alan (the salesman) that my Cluster (the odometer) had been removed from my brand new vehilce and used to repair another customers vehicle. They did this because they did not have the part available for the customer that needed repair. Danie the dealer principle then tried to push the vehicle onto me saying they would collect it next week and put in a new cluster??? Surely i am paying for a new vehicle and should not be tampered with?? i asked him if it is standard practice to take parts off new vehicles to do repairs and he told me "only if it has not been alloceted" I would like know is this standard practice for Mahindra SA?? So you expect to buy a new vehicel but instead you get one that has had parts removed and replaced to repair other vehicels. What is this??? Now when i bring my vehicle for service how do i know other bits and pieces are not being removed. To remove the cluster surely the dashboard must come off!!! but yet selling it to me as NEW. To all, be aware.
