Incorrect debit to bank statement

Hello

My husband and I rented a car from Avis on the 20 Nov. They debited my bank statement for R657.78 on the 5 Dec 2013. This is the standard procedure for renting and this should then have been reversed, but has not yet! I tried e-mailing avis customer care- but I did not make much progress.

Message from my bank:
Avis was suppose to place an amount on hold, when we have funds placed on hold, that hold remains in place for 7 workings days and thereafter are dropped, however the merchant debits the account during that time and when it is dropped they can still debit the account and with this situation it seems they debited your account even though it was no longer needed.

Please could this be refunded
