I am trying to purchase a bakkie for a charity that I work with, I spotted a Mazda Drifter SLX 4x4 advertised by Auto Elegance. I made an enquiry and Ben Rodriguez came back to me, we exchanged a few emails about the car's condition. It looked promising so I took the 140km round trip from where I live in Jhb to their showroom in Wonderboom South. Here is how it was advertised: 2007 MAZDA DRIFTER 2600i SLX 4x4
Service History, Towbar, Air conditioning, Cloth upholstery, Radio/CD, Prices are NOT Inclusive of LIC & REG, R2200.00 / On the Road R2250.00. R 89, 900.
First issue - discovered via email with Ben that there is no Service History
Second issue - on finalising the deal a further R10, 000 mandatory warranty was added to the price of the vehicle. I said I did not want it. After Ben spoke to his boss the answer was they would not sell the car without the warranty thus making a car that was advertised at R89, 900 now ACTUALLY selling at R102, 150.00!!!
So I drive 140km to discover that the price was not as advertised AND that there was misinformation in the advert (which Ben blamed on the stock controller).
Waste of my time! Ben's response: "Thanks for coming through".
