Sunroof damage

I recently bought a Mercedes benz and paid in access of 500 000.00 for the vehicle. While i was driving on the N3 the glass sunroof shattered from inside. I then reported this to the dealership and was told that Mercedes south africa would address the matter; a week later i was told that the repair wont be done and shouls claim from my insurance. The Sunroof was not damaged by a person or any other reason relating to use; the warranty should cover this damage.
