BMW X5 uses 1 liter of oil per 1500 km

I own a BMW X5, bought new in 2011, current milage 68900 km. My car is using a liter of oil every 1500 km, I went to the service department to talk to them and was told that it is perfectly acceptable according to BMW's guidelines to use this amount of oil.
