Customer rights being exploited with defective ca

My name is Mr C.Chetty. On the 28:09:2013, l purchased a Kia Picanto, financed by MFC (nedbank) from Kia Durban, A few days later on the 3:10:201, l started to experience problems with the reverse gear. The gear was not selecting properly, the problem persisted. On the 4:10:2013, l informed my saleman neeren, the vehicle was taken in and checked by a mechanic in my presence and he also had difficulty selecting the gears but still both the mechanic and salesman claim that, that's how these gears are designed but l refused to accept that because each gear selection has independent linkages so how is it you have to select gear1 first then slam the gear lever into reverse and then it take reverse.l have been trying tto return this vehicle and have been refused by the salesman and the dealers principle as well as who says l cannot cancel this deal and cannot return this car.what justice is this.l don't want this car and don't trust Kia no longer, l purchased a new car not a secondhand car to have a problem within 4days of purchase, surely I have the right to return this defective car. Can someone please assist me.
