I rented a vehicle from Budget Car Hire, Lanseria Airport on Friday, 6 September. I was told that the reservation amount was doubled to R5000 due to the fact that it was a weekend and that many events were taking place and the risk for damage to the vehicle was higher.
It is now 18/09/2013 .. a week and a half later and no credit made to my account. I phone Budget and they tell me that they have an invoice for me but the contract was never cancelled and so the refund has not been authorised. I told him that when I got to the airport on Sunday the office was closed, so I could not cancel the contract. I asked him if he didn't think R5000 was a lot of money for someone to be out of pocket of and who exactly was earning the interest on the money whilst it wasn't in my account??? No response. I now have to wait an additional 5 days for my refund!!!
The car was filthy when we got it as well .. inside it had not even been vacuumed properly and then still a deposit not refunded! You have lost a client Budget .. well done on the service.
