I recently had need for documents to be delivered to me urgently while on holiday in Underberg. UTI was contracted to deliver the documents from Johannesburg to Underberg via overnight courier service. Due to the sensitive nature of the documents, it was specifically requested that the documents be delivered to me personally. I was charged extra for this service as I was 40km outside of town and willingly paid the extra charge. Despite this, the driver failed to deliver the documents to me personally and left them with a complete stranger in town who was instructed to call me to arrange for me to collect them. The reason given for this lack of delivery was that the driver didn't want to drive his truck on narrow back roads and wanted to get back to Pietermaritzburg. In other words he did not want to do the job he was paid to do.
When this was challenged, UTI agreed to credit me the extra delivery charge and was provided with my contact details. Two weeks later no one has contacted me to arrange the refund and the company's attitude towards the whole thing is extremely disappointing.
