In February 2012, I sent my vehicle to Gear Max for the Diff to be overhauled as it was making a funny humming noise. Paid R5348.00 for the diff overhaul. On return on the vehicle the vehicle was still making the same humming noise, took it back was told to replace bearings, replaced the front wheel bearings the vehicle still had the same humming noise took it to several mechanical shops in East London and said the only noise it could be the diff, told them that the diff had been overhauled already. The drive shaft was redone, then i was told to replace the side shaft which i did and again cost me another R1650.00 at Gear max. My Husband after going through all these changes in a year then put the diff from his vehicle into my bakkie and well noise gone. The diff that was overhauled by Gear max was taken back to them and was told to replace bearings in the diff. If the diff had been overhauled properly in the first place the noise would have been sorted out in the first place and i wouldn't have spent money unnecessarily. All this to be told that the guarantee has expired and i must pay again to have the diff overhauled. This service is totally unacceptable.
