I bought a brand new Toyota Quantum last year. At about 40 000Km it had a Diff. noise, they changed Diff. bearings. The noise seemed to subside at the time but has returned around 80, 000km.
At about 70 000km there was a tapping noise in the engine when it was idling, they have advised me that is "normal". However, other Quantums I checked out do not have this noise...
At 80, 000km service, I brought it in myself to ensure they hear the noise. They consulted another service technician within the department. The other service technician acknowledged that there was a problem. However later that day, they called me up saying that it was "normal"
I feel that they are waiting for my Quantum to be out of warranty at 100, 000km then they will attend to the noise then forcing me to pay for it.
I am very unsatisfied with McCarthy Toyota's unprofessional conduct and now I doubt that their slogan PEACE OF MIND IS PART OF THE DEAL is true.
