One of our vehicles was taken on 14 August 2013 to Cronje's Auto Body for them to quote for repairs after an accident. They are the Ford approved panel beaters in Waltloo. We were told to leave the vehicle at their premises for them to prepare the quote. I received the quote via email at 16h36 on 14 August 2013.
On 15 August when we enquired about collecting the vehicle we were informed that we must pay R450 for the quote as "they are not getting the job". I explained that I require additional quotes.
We were also charged storage fees as the vehicle had stood by them over night. I explained to the lady that we were never informed of these costs prior to leaving the vehicle there. This fell on deaf ears as she did not want to listen.
1) How does one get a quote if we have to pay for it. Absolute rip off.
2) Storage fees get charged when the customer is told to leave the vehicle at their premises in order for them to prepare the quote. Not being informed to collect the vehicle after they had completed the quote. Absolute rip off.
3) Quoting for items which were never damaged in the accident. Absolute rip off.
