My car had 2 consistent problems since I bought it - wiper which randomly activated itself and aircon which often did not work. The problems were always temporarily fixed. After my service contract expired, they resurfaced. I called Merc and was referred to St Elmo Burger service manager of Sandown Motors Century City, where I bought my car. My other issue was the bad quality steering wheel which was fitted to the car. St Elmo asked me if he could keep the car for 2 weeks, and if I would have a problem if he drove the car for those 2 weeks to try and find the wiper and aircon problem. He also confirmed that he would try and sort out my steering wheel replacement. I approved, and dropped my car off on 5 July '13. After 2 weeks I contacted them to find out when I could get my car back. I was informed that no one had looked at it yet. On 12 Aug 13 I was called with a quote of R15 000 for a broken manifold, which I was told, was picked up as an error on that day! This was not picked up before?? Asked my car back. Wednesday Ninian called to say aircon and wiper were fixed and car would be returned. Car arrived with broken and scratched rear view mirror. Aircon still not working!
