We rented a vehicle from AVIS in May 2013 and in July R234.84 was taken off my account. When I contacted Avis they told us the charge is for re directing a fine. They say this was stipulated in their contract, which is a ridiculous amount. Owning a fleet of vehicles I know that this is an ABSOLUTE RIP OFF as anyone can print a form off the traffic website and it is FREE to change the driver's details. Only cost is to print a form and e-mail it... not R234.84. AVIS charges this amount for each and every fine that is received... Amazing how I have used Hertz before and they never charged me this amount... Really disgusted that AVIS can charge for something so ridiculous and easy to rectify. Also they don't have after sales service as no-one contacted me to let us know about the fine or if we were happy with their service. They just deduct money off your account. Careful what you sign for as AVIS RIP you OFF. Not happy at all...
