Took my car for repairs as there was a sqeaky sound coming from the engine. They quoted me R11000 to fix everything on my car. So I said they must fix only what is important. The tech suggested the water pump. My budget was R2000, so he said the cost will be R2400. I said they can work on it as long as the noise will go away.
Dropped off my car at 8am, and they said i can fetch it at 5:15pm. When I got there around 5:30pm my car was not ready. So they gave me their car. The following day, they called around 11am to say my car was fine. When I got there, they charged me R3846, meaning they have included the service that i said they must not do. I got the car and still the noise was there, so i called him, he sprayed on it and it stopped, seconds later it started again.
He said the V-belt needed to be changed. So on Saturday i took it to another mechanic, he checked the car, and said, they did not change the oil filter, petrol filter, adjust the handbrake, and the pump they used is probably a refurbished one.
He checked the water bottle that supplies the radiator with water, was empty. Shocking, as that would have caused the engine to overheat.
Very bad workmanship. Never again
