I would like to pass my concern regarding a claim which I made for my Hyundai Accent. My car broke down and asked my mechanic to tow my car away. Noticed it was mixing water and oil. My mechanic phoned the insurance on my behalf and spoke to Sandra who took the report of the car. On Monday (01 July 2013), I went to the shop where my car is kept for repairs. I phoned Sandra myself and let her speak to my mechanic. My mechanic asked her if he can get an authorisation to go ahead and fix my car and she said yes. Now I found out that they only authorised R500.00 for the R11000.00 job. My policy covers my engine for R10000.00. Cylinder head was sent to the engineerings, rings and bearings and pistons needed replacement. i don't understand how is R500.00 going to cover R11000.00 job.
I would like Grand Palace manangement to help me as this is embarrasing.
