I have purchased a 2012 Foton Thunda D/C 2.8TD XV Vehicle with about 24500 Km on it; it was a dealership vehicle on the 28/03/2013.
I got the vehicle on the Thursday 28/03/2013, with known problems that the Proton Menlyn dealership said I should make an appointment with them to fix the problems, e.g. a clucking noise as soon as you push the clutch pedal down to change gears, side view mirrors, the headlights, ABS Sensor and some minor dents & scratches as it's covered under manufacturer's warranty still.
On the 06/04/2013 I was on my way travelling to Petrus Steyn when I heard a noise and then some smoke coming from my front right wheel.
I pulled over next to the road just past the (Allandale off ramp); I phoned Jaco Prollius (Per-owned Sales Manager) from Menlyn. A tow truck was dispatched and the vehicle was towed in to Foton Midrand for repairs, Jaco arranged for us to be picked up and also was kind enough to supply me with a courtesy vehicle.
8th April 2013, I phoned the Midrand dealership and talked to the Service Advisor asking what is the problem with my vehicle as I would like to know how long it would take to repair, long story short they only started to work on my vehicle
