The motherboard on my key was damaged and ever locksmith I spoke to said that only the PEUGEOT DEALERS could recode the key. The initial quote was R1200.00 to recode the key. The vehicle was towed to the Fourways dealership. On receipt of the vehicle, I was told that the vehicle needed a new battery at R1700.00 and then a further R13000.00 to replace the onboard computer. When i expressed my dissatisfaction with the dealership, i was told to contact customer service. I contacted customer service and have spent the past week trying to find out what is going on. A week later I was told that there is nothing wrong with the key, but the onboard computer was locked. THIS IS A BLATANT AND SEEMS TO BE THE PEUGEOT FRANCHISE TRYING TO FLEECE MONEY OUT OF CUSTOMERS.
If the computer was damaged how was I able to drive the car with the spare key?
