After a long and stressful day with a new client I just wanted to get back to my house in JHB. Traffic on the N1 was a nightmare and I was almost out of fuel, so I took the next turn off in search of a garage. I had no idea where I was when I finally stumbled across the BP in Elardus Park. As I drove in I was in a very foul mood, to say the least. In my mind I was cursing everything: my stupid work, the stupid traffic, the stupid weather, the stupid empty petrol tank, and the stupid GPS for not being in my car. I was at breaking point and ready to take out my frustration on anyone who happened to cross my path. And as I rolled down my window to bark my demand for petrol, I received the biggest, warmest, friendliest greeting and a huge smile from Johannes, the forecourt attendant. His amazing attitude and outright jolly mood completely knocked the wind out of my sails, and before I could say a word I realised that I was smiling again. Later, before I left I received a send-off as friendly as I had been welcomed&wishes of safe travels. Attitudes like Johannes's are rare these days and need to be applauded!! Thank you! BP, you have an amazing&rare resource in Johannes-look after him!!
