Key Moves collected our household furniture from Cape Town on Friday, 17 May to transport to Johannesburg. We were told the truck would arrive in Johannesburg on Monday 20 May. On Monday we were told that the truck would be slightly delayed, and subsequently we were told the truck had left Cape Town "late" and would arrive in Johannesburg on Wednesday 22 May. Today, again after many calls, we were first told that Key Moves were "trying to get hold of the driver", and later, again after numerous calls, we were told that the driver named Nick had been tracked down in Knysna! When we asked to speak to a director we were informed that the owner "is out on lunch and they will call when they get back". Finally we were told that our furniture will arrive in Johannesburg on Friday 24 May. In the interim we have had to check into a hotel as our house in Johannesburg is empty.
A delay of a few hours would certainly be reasonable, but this is unquestionably PATHETIC service, to say the very least, and clearly a breach of contract. Avoid using Key Moves at all costs!
