I rented a car for a trip down the South Coast. I hit a pothole in the road and my windscreen on the hired car cracked. On closer inspection I could see that the windscreen had previously been chipped and repaired.
On return of the vehicle I pointed this out to the gentleman receiving the car.
In was surprised when I was billed for tHe new windscreen, in my opinion a latent defect is not covered in tHe agreement I entered into with Europcar.
Europcar offered me a discount which still had me paying over R 3500 for something that wasn't my fault. I continue to dispute this with Europcar.
Today I tried to rent a car with another car hire company, only to be told that Europcar have blacklisted me with all car hire companies and until I settle them I will not be able to rent a car. I was left stranded at the airport.
This is blatant bullying.
