We went to nonna lina on the 11/03/2013. the service was slow & bad. even though the waiters kept walking past us to serve the tables behind us they kept ignoring us. no one including the manager bothered to come ask if were ok & if we needed anything else, I'm not sure if its cause once again we were the only "brown" people in the restaurant. when we tried to get the waiters attention it took them atleast 20mins before coming to attend to our needs. so when it came time to pay the bill we didn't bother tipping. we found it so amazing that the manager then very quickly worked over to us assuming we were from overseas to tell us that in SA you are suppose to pay a 10% tip cause that's how they do things here. even though on the bill it was only stated that a 10% service fee is charged for 6 or more people on a table. the food was nice but i refuse to go to a place where i'm told i'm suppose to pay a service fee especially if its not stated on the bill that i must. its not mandatory to tip if you don't want to.
