I went to Maxi's at Northgate yesterday because I wanted to see what it was like. Usually I eat at Wimpy but I wanted to try something new.
I was very disappointed by how slow everything is. I waited a lot longer to get my coffee than it would take to get a whole meal at Wimpy. I then had to wait what must have been at least half an hour for my food. At Wimpy I get my food within minutes. I was there very early in the morning and there were maybe 3 customers in the whole place so I don't think the slowness was because of the number of customers.
The waiters are unattentive. You can't get their attention because they are simply not around most of the time. I had to wait for ages after finishing my meal before I could ask for the bill. At Wimpy the waiters are constantly on the move and do everything like bring and taking away things from your table exactly when you expect them to without needing to be told to do it.
The food was lacklustre and the coffee was nothing special. It can't compete with Wimpy once again.
The thing that really bothered me was that when I paid for my meal by card the person helping me stood there staring at my hand while I put my pin in.
