Let me start of by saying that I love food and am always up to try new places so yes, I am not a regular at the above-mentioned place. From the hostess saying they are f%%%%%% six when asked how many of us were at the table, to a black waiter being called to serve us from wherever he was, to customers behaving as if my blackness is contagious- I knew that the evening wasn't going to be a great one. I'm bringing customers up because I strongly believe that patrons to a place mimic the attitude of staff towards other staff members and patrons. It's annoying that in 2012, one must feel like the 'white only' years in SA. There's a general misconception in the food industry that black people don't tip or tip well- perhaps it is because of the substandard service they get.
On a positive note, our waiter was excellent (forgot his name, sorry), and the food too (though it took an hr and 30 minutes). I trust that this matter will receive the attention it deserves, otherwise good franchises/restaurants will cease to exist in this country (esp the Vaal).
