My wife and I recently holidayed in Cape Town and visited the Waterfront on Tuesday 24 December. We came across San Marco and were attracted by the delicious-looking cakes.
After staring at the cakes for several minutes we found it unusual that no waiter approached us. Nevertheless we took it upon ourselves to take a seat. Unbelievably after five minutes no waiter had yet come to serve us in spite of a bunch of them standing around doing nothing!
Even the manager stared at me and failed to do anything.
We left immediately and were simply appalled by this shocking level of service.
It is possible that we will not visit Cape Town for another five years but whenever next we are in the Mother City you can be assured that we will give San Marco a miss.
