I am a hearing impaired person, and as a result my speech is different. I bought take-always from Kauai today. As I placed my order, the assistant behind the till laughed with her colleague at my speech. When she repeated my order, she cruelly mimicked my speech, to more giggles from her and her male colleague. When I confronted her about what she had done, she admitted she had done it because my speech was different. I explained to her that I am hearing impaired, and thus my speech will not be "normal", but she remained completely unapologetic. Such cruel and humiliating behaviour left me completely stunned.
