Being my favourite restaurant, I opted for Ocean Basket Monte Casino for my Birthday Supper with my family of 10. The waiter was pleasant but for the first time ever the food was terrible. Firstly, the mussel pot was delivered within 5 minutes of being ordered but was cold, when I complained and asked for a fresh order to be made, they came back another 5 minutes late with the same order re-heated with no sauce in the pot. The soy sauce for the sushi was absolutely salty which totally overpowered the taste of the sushi. Our main meal, a few platters were half the portions we normally receive, the rice was under cooked, the fish and calamari was over done and rubbery, the prawns had no taste and the mussels had no sauce. I was totally disgusted with the food but ate what we could off the plate, we were hungry and even when we complained about the starters, the replacement was just as bad. The manager did was not too concerned when we complained. The only thing good was the wine. After an R800 meal, we all left hungry. We eat at Ocean basket all the time and always love the food, I was totally disgusted with the food we received last night and will never go there again.
