I ordered a toasted chicken mayo sandwich from Sandwich Baron - Melrose crossing, and I will never make that mistake again!!
I placed the order online, like I have always done in the passed, and sandwich baron sent an email to me shortly after confirming my order and that the TOTAL PRICE was R22.30.
However, when my sandwich arrived, they had added an additional R7.50 on the bill for 'Open Sales'. When I contacted the branch, I was told by the manger that in June 2013 a circular was sent out stating that Sandwich baron now charges for delivery @ R7.50. He claimed that he had sent this to my whole company. Funnily enough, nobody at my company knows about this new delivery charge.
I ordered a sandwich in SEPTEMBER 2013 and was not charged for delivery. Whats more disgusting is the fact that my office is located 1.3km's from the sandwich baron store!! You are seriously going to now start charging to deliver a sandwich just down the road!?
Secondly, the toasted chicken mayo was absolutely disgusting, it was drenched in mayonnaise and was in essence more mayonnaise than anything else, the bread had even gone soggy from it. This is one of my worst dining experiences!!
