Chicken not properly cleaned

On the 5th of September my mom purchased food at the KFC branch above and on getting home and opening the box and picking up the chicken wing she immediatey noticed a portion of the feather protruding from it. she phone customer services and explained what she had received. They promised to get back to her within 48hours and even send a sms with reference number cas-23529-w9 to verify that her call had been received. The sms also stated that a KFC representative would be in contact. It is now the 18th Of september and no further correspondence has been forthcoming form KFC. The meal was returned to the branch and a refund was done with a simple"sorry - it is the suppliers fault" The supplier doesn't package the individual meals and obviously the branch is not prepared to accept their part in actually giving something like this to the public. Is this how they handle possible health violations? by ignoring the clients concerns and atttmepting to pass the buck.
