We decided to have lunch at Harpers on Women's Day, our waiter was excellent and the food was good but the white male supervisor on duty that day was extremely rude. At first, my four year old daughter wanted to sit with me on my chair, the supervisor approached me and told me that my daughter should sit in her own chair, when I asked him why, he responded coldly, 'she's going to fall, ' I was surprised and thanked him for his concern but I told him that she was fine. He kept on staring at my children coldly and I couldn't understand why. When we finally finished our lunch and paid nearly R1000-00, the supervisor started making a scene and shouting at the waiters about 'the mess.' My husband was shocked and took him to the side to ask him to stop making such a scene to which he responded, 'you must learn to control your children, they have made such a mess'- needless to say my husband felt very insulted and told the supervisor that Harpers is a family restaurant and he requested an apology. The supervisor just said 'thank you' and looked the other way. If nothing is done about your supervisors attitude we will never eat at Harpers again and we will certainly spread the word.
