We as a family visited the Bistro today for lunch. We were met at the door and directed to the upper level. We then waited to be directed to a table. A lady came to our direction, but ignored us. I then asked my wife if we must wait for a table. My wife then suggested that we must go and sit at an open table. The lady that ignored us then suddenly turned around and said in a sarcastic tone in Afrikaans: "Skattie, jy kan nie net gaan sit nie, want dan sit jy op iemand anders se plek, skattie." I believe you will understand the tone and bad manners of this sarcastic service by the lady. I am a proud Afrikaans speaking South African, and attitudes like these gve us a bad name. We then went to the Anchor Restaurant, just next door, and enjoyed a lovely lunch with friendly and professional service.
