Cape Town Fish Market
Food poisonng

On June 16th 2013, my family and I went to CTFM V&A for the Sunday Lunch Buffet. I made a reservation the day before and enquired about the menu, as we had the buffet at a previous branch and we were satisfied with the menu and the quality of the food. I asked the woman I spoke to if there would be prawns on the menu and she assured me that there would.

The day of the lunch we were 7 adults, 1 child and 1 baby. 6 of the 7 adults opted to have the buffet. We saw that the prawns were noticeably absent from the menu but the waitron said there would be prawns even though the menu changed the week before.By the end of the lunch, still nothing.

Later that evening the 6 of us started feeling bloated and some of us had immediate effects of food posioning. The following day all of us either vomited or had diarrhea.

My mother called the V&A branch and requested to speak to the branch manager to notify him about the incident. Mauritz the manager assured her that he would look into the matter and get back to her by the next day. I used Twitter to complain that I had food poisoning and got a reply from CTFM telling me to email them, which I did.

Still no response from the manager.
