No service, no support!

Thursday 8am. Sat down at Mugg and Bean Cape Gate for a breakfast meeting with a VIP client. Restaurant is mostly empty - I counted 4 seated tables. No "Good morning, Sir! Where would you like to sit? " So I choose seating close to the main serving area, hopefull of receiving quick and effecitve service as we have very limited time for the meeting. Client arrives couple of minutes later. We start chatting, iPads open, scibbling ideas on exam pads - you know the drill, I'm sure! 20 min later-STILL NO WAITER at the table, even though the group of waiters, including their stern faced manager, seems to be having a jol all on their own. I get up, walk to a waiter and ask to be served. Djeez, was that a wrong request! Drooping shoulders, "why the are you bothering me" attitude on legs takes his time slouching over to our table, presents an order book and wants to know what we want. Well, that is after we figured out what he asked, as his command of the spoken language was non existant. Of course, both me and Mr VIP client decides this place. We'll spend our money somewhere else. Stern faced manager's response: "oh djes... I did see you not getting da se-vice" HELLO!!
