Very poor experience at Ocean Basket Cape Gate

My mother and I visited Ocean Basket Cape Gate on 15 January 2014 for dinner. We arrived at 18.50 and was helped by a friendly waiter immediately. I ordered the Jumbo Hake with stir fry veg and a side of butternut and spinach. My mother had the Hake and Prawn special with butternut veg.

As we were waiting for our food other tables filled up. We continued to wait and wait. Tables that arrived after us placed their orders-some platters-and was starting to receive their food.

I had bought 2 movie tickets for my mom and I for the 20.15 show. After waiting about 50 minutes for our food, I made eye contact with our waiter and he came over to apologise and say that he just inquired about our food but didn't know what the hold up was and hoped the food would be ready soon. I told him we had tickets and barely had time to finish our meal now. I asked him to please send the manager to our table.

I could see the manager yelling at ktichen staff at this point but she never came to explain anything to us. I asked the waiter to cancel our order. We left money on the table for our drinks and had to leave or miss our movie. We waited 50 minutes and had to leave hungry! TERRIBLE service!
