Discovery Card account closed - still charged

In October i phoned to find out my final settlement, telephonically informed them i will be settling my account but was still charged. In Dec 2012 after speaking to the consultant, i requested closure form and faxed it off. Discovery claims they never received it. In March i spoke to consultant, faxed another closure form & told them i will not pay for card fees, card protector for a card that was cut up in October & never used since.

After numerous calls Thobile phoned me & informed me they will reverse the fees but the cardprotector must be paid from Oct till April. - R514.14. I will only pay for 2 mths- notice period, but they informed me "Your concerns have been noted, if payment is not received the account cannot be closed and will be handed over." This means the amount will get higher and higher every month because i refuse to pay & i will get blacklisted.

I have never used/claimed from the card protector in all the years (more than 10yrs) that i have had the card, so they made enough money out of me for doing nothing. Why must I pay for their negligence by not capturing my closure form that i faxed in December & pay for a proctector for a card that doesnt exist?
