On Wednesday 24/04/13 I had logged on to my internet banking and noticed three cheques of substantial amounts had been cashed from two of my accounts, so went to ABSA to query this, and had lodged a case with them, I was told that they had to wait for the cheques to be requested, and should wait until they arrive.
My argument is I still have these blank unsigned cheques in my chequebook still attached to the counterfoil, hence this is from inside of ABSA, where they also managed to block/bar the phones that are used for confirmation, they also knew around which cheque numbers to duplicate.
Does ABSA tellers even check the signatures, and what happens when they cannot reach anyone to cash the cheque, I would assume that common sense would tell you that you cannot cash cheques of ridiculous amounts without proper confirmation!!
so they have problems firstly with someone duplicating cheques, secondly with their process of confirming cheques, thirdly sombody inside their banks knowing which is the last cheque that had been cashed on the various accounts.
I do not see why I should wait for receiving my money back when it is ABSA's stupidity surrounding the way they handle cheques
